Welcome to Walking Fit!
WalkingFit is one of the wellness programs which support the UC Living Well and UCR Wellness initiatives. It is a free program for all UCR faculty and staff designed to promote lifelong fitness and improve health and well-being through daily cumulative movement. The campus-wide program began in November 2007 and encourages staff and faculty to walk their way to a healthier body.
Each WalkingFit participant receives a free pedometer to track their daily steps. The program promotes the nationally recognized goal of 10,000 steps per day. As participants accumulate steps, they are rewarded for their progress. Participants can earn prizes such as Walking Fit Water Bottles, a bag to store their walking shoes, a Walking Fit Travel Mug, and a Walking Fit T-Shirt.
